PostgreSQL DocumentDB
DocumentDB is an open source document database engine built as PostgreSQL extensions that add a BSON data type and a DocumentDB API for working with document collections. From SQL you can create collections, insert and query BSON documents, update and delete records, manage indexes (including TTL), and run aggregation pipelines and lookups for more complex workloads.
With Eyevinn Open Source Cloud (OSC), you get DocumentDB as a managed service instead of building Docker images, compiling extensions, installing them into Postgres, and wiring up the runtime yourself. Provision a ready-to-use endpoint quickly, skip the day-2 work of keeping the service running, and focus on using the DocumentDB API to build features.
Because it runs on PostgreSQL, DocumentDB fits naturally into developer workflows that already use Postgres while adding document-oriented capabilities on top. Consuming it through OSC means you can standardize how you deploy and operate open source services across environments, with DocumentDB available alongside the rest of your OSC services without you having to manage the underlying infrastructure.
