Silo

PGSTY Silo is an S3-compatible object storage server maintained as a community fork of the open-source MinIO server. It preserves S3 API and storage-format compatibility (including existing MINIO_* environment variables, metrics, headers, routes, and on-disk metadata), and includes the full web console plus a bundled CLI client (mcli) for common bucket and object operations. It’s designed to keep existing MinIO-style deployments running with continued builds, packaging, and security fixes. As a managed service on Eyevinn Open Source Cloud (OSC), you get Silo provisioned for you without standing up containers, Kubernetes charts, systemd units, or storage volumes yourself. OSC handles the operational overhead of running and maintaining the service so your team can focus on using an S3-compatible endpoint for backups, artifacts, media assets, or application data rather than maintaining the object storage platform. Using Silo through OSC also makes it easier to keep a disciplined upgrade path: you can pin versions, roll forward to newer managed instances when you’re ready, and avoid building and distributing multi-arch images, binaries, and packages internally. You still work with the same S3-compatible API surface and compatibility expectations described by the Silo project—just delivered as an on-demand cloud service within the OSC environment.
