Put a CDN in front of your site, storage or app
On Open Source Cloud you can put a CDN in front of a public My Page, a MinIO storage instance or a My App. The CDN caches your content on a European edge network and serves it over HTTPS. Usage costs 6 OSC tokens per GB delivered and 50 tokens per site per day. CDN is in beta, on the Professional plan and higher.
Updated
CDN is in beta
There is no SLA for CDN delivery while it is in beta. Traffic caps apply per site and per workspace, so CDN suits websites, downloads and video on demand rather than broadcast-scale live streaming.
How to put a CDN in front of an endpoint
Each CDN site accelerates one endpoint. The endpoint stays as it is, and you get a second address that is served from the edge.
- 1
Pick the endpoint
A public My Page, a MinIO storage instance with public-read buckets, or a My App that sends Cache-Control headers. Your workspace needs the Professional plan or higher.
- 2
Turn on CDN
Open the CDN panel on the My Page, My App or storage instance in the OSC app. An AI agent connected to the OSC MCP server can do the same with create-my-cdn-site.
- 3
Wait until the site is active
Creation runs in the background. When the site status is active, it shows its CDN address.
- 4
Use the CDN address for public content
Link to the CDN address for pages, images, downloads and video segments. Keep the endpoint's own address for anything private or signed.
What you can accelerate
A CDN site has one origin, and what gets cached depends on its kind.
A public My Page
Static sites published to My Pages. Pages are cached for a few minutes, so a new publish shows up shortly after. My Pages protected with Basic Auth cannot use the CDN.
A MinIO storage instance
Files in public-read buckets, such as images, downloads and video files. Seeking in video works: range requests are answered with 206 Partial Content. Private objects return 403. Do not send presigned URLs through the CDN address, because the CDN can keep serving them after they expire.
A My App
Responses your app marks with Cache-Control: public or s-maxage are cached. Requests that carry cookies or an Authorization header go to your app and are not cached.
What it costs
CDN usage is paid in OSC tokens from your plan: 6 tokens per GB delivered and 50 tokens per site per day. These are the rates in production today.
The metered usage view in the app lists CDN egress, CDN requests and CDN sites as separate lines.
Not available yet
- Clearing the cache yourself. Content refreshes when its cache time runs out.
- Custom domains on CDN sites: rolling out, available on selected workspaces.
- Private or presigned content through the CDN address.
- A published list of edge locations. The edge network is European, and the sub-processor page will name the countries once they are confirmed.
Your origin stays yours
The CDN sits in front of an endpoint you already run. MinIO and the apps behind it are open source, and the endpoint keeps its own address. Delete the CDN site and the origin keeps serving as before.

Questions
Which endpoints can I put a CDN in front of?
A public My Page, a MinIO storage instance with public-read buckets, or a My App that sends Cache-Control headers. Other service types and My Pages protected with Basic Auth are not supported.
What does the CDN cost?
6 OSC tokens per GB delivered and 50 tokens per site per day, paid from your plan's tokens. The plans and the tokens they include are on the pricing page.
Which plans include CDN?
Professional and higher. CDN is not available on the Basic or Personal plans.
Is CDN production-ready?
CDN is in beta and comes without an SLA. Traffic caps apply per site and per workspace.
Does seeking in video work through the CDN?
Yes. Range requests are answered from the CDN with 206 Partial Content, so a player can seek in a video file served from a public-read MinIO bucket.
Where are the edge locations?
The CDN runs on a European edge network, not in a single country. The sub-processor page will list the country of each edge location once it is confirmed.
Can I use my own domain?
Custom domains on CDN sites are rolling out and are available on selected workspaces. Every site gets a CDN address of its own.
Who operates the edge network?
Varnish Software AB operates it, provided through Elastx AB, which resells the service. Both are listed on our sub-processor page under content delivery.
Can I clear the cache after an update?
Not yet. Cached content refreshes when its cache time runs out, which is a few minutes for My Pages. For a My App, the Cache-Control headers it sends decide how long a response stays cached.
Put your first endpoint behind the CDN
Create an OSC account, choose the Professional plan or higher, and turn on CDN for a My Page, a storage instance or a My App.
